~ Well, as you can tell if you read immediately below this box, my morning start with Smart did not go well.Coffee with Clyde, sadly, has not improved the situation.Speaking of television and radio news, Mr. Editor says, What both have done is enhance newspapers because neither can produce stories of depth and insight that a good newspaper offers.Still waiting for those in-depth and insightful stories, Mr. Editor .
~ On a very serious note, there was an important article in yesterdays Intell that was not posted online. It reads in part,
Lancaster citys controller refused Friday to sign an application for state funds being prepared by developers of a proposed hotel/convention center on Penn Square.
R.B. Campbell said during a telephone interview the state program that would allocate the funds requires the hotel property to be taxed, and the city would be liable for millions for the next 20 years.
I think I should do the right thing and take my job seriously, he said.Everything regarding this project seems to be at the last minute, which raises some questions as to if all the pertinent details have been handled properly.
Please go to these two articles and read the Talkback under each one.The posters know more and express it far better than I ever could:
~ In the continuation of the incest story, I have published an email from my sister Emily in response to my email, Journey, which has been posted for some time and is here.As it turns out, my email would cross with my brothers and sisters first letter to my therapist. The letter was two pages long and was sent around the country and Canada for original signatures.I will publish that letter next and my response to it.When my sister talks about theres been plenty of water over the dam this is what she is referring to.Her email is here.Much more on all of this later.
~ Thank you for reading LIP News.
Good Sunday morning.Im running late, folks. You see I just read Smarts, Its not about balance or bias, its all about the Benjamins and it has made my eyes weary and my head droop.I may not recover.I have read interesting pieces on the Ann Coulter/Time issue and this is not one of them. The headline is dreadful, the story is a fancy bunch of nothing and I think Smart should be very careful with the whole journalistic objectivity thing.Im going to go have a cup of coffee with Clyde and maybe Ill wake up!Check back later
~ A message was left on my voice mail Friday at from Keith Orrs (I am not sure of the spelling) who identified himself as being from John Frys office, the President of Franklin & MarshallCollege. He left a phone number so I will call him on Monday and keep you updated. (See below.)
~ Why isnt Lancaster District Attorney Donald Totaro screaming about this? This story has run before but this is simply an outrage. As the District Attorney how can he obtain or uphold murder convictions under these circumstances? This was reported in the Intell months ago as if it were just another story and the information and link to the article, now in archives, is still on the front page of this website.More later
~ Speaking of Donald Totaro, the box at the top of this page has gone to 89 days.As posted yesterday, I have two separate confirmations of grand jury testimony in the Cortney Fry case and, therefore, we should expect a murder charge to be filed any day now.Im sure the Lancaster Newspapers will send reporters to rigorously question Totaro.
~ The 24 year anniversary of the murder attempt on Robert Henderson is April 30.Next week, beginning Monday, the Lancaster Lynching story will be featured here.
~ Since I began this website, people have been full of advice, which is the way of the world and I appreciate it.One friend told me I had to focus. He said I was all over the place.I apologize if that is true. There is so much going on and next week I will try to keep my focus on the Lynching story. However, the incest story is never far from my mind.It still, after over four years, wakes me up at every morning and I am still learning new things. You see, my parents had a huge, horrible secret they had to hide. Not only that, they had to make sure their children could never expose them. They had to make sure we were powerless. So on top of dreadful, isolated childhoods and sexual abuse, they also heaped constant criticism and insult that continues to this day.Im surprised that any of us have survived to the level that we have.More on all of this and another chapter from Charlies Promise later
~ There will be an update on the hotel/convention center story here tomorrow and why Democratic mayoral candidate Rich Gray worries about what goes on the roof of the Watt & Shand Building???? And Rick, what happened to the donkey?
FRIDAY MORNING NOTES
~ I received a phone call at yesterday afternoon from Carol Byers, assistant to John Fry, President of Franklin and MarshallCollege. She assured me that someone would call me today.Stay tuned
~ I get traffic reports every day including search strings which means how someone got to my site through a search engine. The biggest, of course, is incest with a number of variations and combinations such as brothers incest, brothers and sisters incest and family incest. This was the first story I posted on this site and it is not very neat and some links dont work.I will be cleaning it up this weekend. It is very important to me that people read this information.
~ I made a reference earlier to my brother having elective brain surgery.Even my son said, What? This is not an exaggeration and more details will follow. The long term effects of sexual violations on girls and boys are incomprehensible.
~ Check back later today and thank you for reading LIP News.
~ Coming later today I will call John Fry, President of Franklin & MarshallCollege regarding the Charles H. Holzinger Anthropology Award (see below). One note about the award my father established it and funds it.There is no F&M money involved but of course the college likes it because they can list it as an award students can obtain.
~ Im going to start a calendar of events and will keep a Calendar button at the top on the left. The first event is the next meeting of Lancaster First, an organization against the hotel/convention center project. Their next meeting is Wednesday, April 27 at Mulberry Art Studio, 21 N. Mulberry Street.Their website does not list a time so they might want to update that.Their website is www.LancasterFirst.org.
~ Check back later today.
LAST DAY TO REGISTER TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARY/WEBSITES/LUIS MENDOZA AND OTHER THINGS
~ According to a poster on Talkback, today is the last day to register to vote in the Pennsylvania primary election on May 17, 2005.Why dont Democrats switch to Republican for the primary and vote for Luis Mendoza? Please see the editorial below, Vote for Luis Mendoza in the Primary and also Breaking News regarding the proposed hotel/convention center. Mendoza is the only one of the three mayoral candidates opposing this project. The poster says voter registration is in the old ArmstrongBuilding at the corner of Chestnut and Queen Streets.
~ Luis Mendoza does not currently have a website.Smithgalls and Grays are:www.smithgallformayor.com and www.grayformayor.com.Both websites are well done with Smithgalls a little more staid than the overly patriotic site Gray has (can you see stars?).David Schell of www.imakewebpages.com designed Smithgalls and Grays son, Evan Kashar, of www.kashar.com designed his fathers.I particularly enjoy the donkey that was posted on this website on Friday and Saturday. On Grays site, click on Help Rick over on the left and you will see said donkey.Smithgalls theme is Hey, Charlie!with a testimonial from guess who - Peggy Steinman.Grays theme is Go Rick! His doesnt have much content at this point probably because he is awaiting the outcome of the primary.Which reminds me, vote for Luis Mendoza!
~ Coming tomorrow, a look at Charlie Smithgall and crime and the two articles, Smithgall, Mendoza spar over crime billboards, and 30-40 shots fired in city shoot-out.
~ Dont think for one minute Ive forgotten about District Attorney Donald Totaro, the grand jury and the Cortney Fry case.Stay tuned.
~ More from the Lancaster Lynching series is also coming this week.
