***TALKBACK***       There has been a bit of a ruckus on the Lancaster Online Talkback boards the last few days with two abortion threads closed.  This morning, the LNP Electronic Programs Manager posted this, “Talkback is provided as a free service by Lancaster Newspapers.  Talkback, as a free service, cannot consume the valuable time of the LancasterOnline staff.  Keep it responsible and mature.”   1.     They make a tremendous amount of money off the advertising on the boards. 2.     These boards are very inexpensive.  In fact, go to the very bottom of the first Talkback page.  Click on “Lo-Fi Version.”  Go the the very bottom of that page and click on “Invision Power Services.”  Under “Products” click on “Invision Power Board” and on the next screen over on the right click on “download and pricing.” The software costs $185.00 for a perpetual purchase including upgrades or $69.95 a year if purchased annually.   We are talking less than $200 for “perpetual” use of the board. These boards are becoming quite common.  In fact, I could put one on this website very easily and for about the above pricing.  My computer, however, does not have enough memory at this time. Look at their advertising and think of $185 for “perpetual” use and then figure out how much money LNP is making
